Waste of Money

The Washington Nationals agreed on a huge contract with outfielder Jayson Werth. The veteran will get paid for the next seven years which will bring him into his late 30's. The Nationals will be paying this overrated veteran close to 20 million dollars when he is close to retiring. If anything, I think the Nationals should have went with less years and a lot less money

  1. I agree with you to an extent. I think they want him now while hes hot and maybe he can do some good for them but you have a valid point now that I look at it.

  2. I completely agree. This guy is getting paid more than what some of us are going to make in a life time, in seven years. Also, yes I know sports mean a lot to people, but that is a lot of money just to play a game if you know what I mean. Also, what happens if Werth gets injured and can no longer play, what's going to happen to his contract? I just think the Nationals risked a lot on this one. I mean it is about taking risks and chances, but at the same time they have to be reasonable ones.
